Makeup Artist, for his top tips on making your
base last all day…
Step 1 – Prep your skin
Primer does exactly what it says on the bottle
– primes your skin for makeup.

‘Primer will not only even out the skin
texture, it also creates a layer that will settle
the foundation so it lasts longer’ says Fred.
If you can’t be bothered with a two step
process, you an even mix your primer with
your foundation on the back of your hand –
this will give you a lighter, more natural
coverage.
Step 2 – Applying the foundation
To make foundation last, always apply it with
a brush, advises Fred. ‘A brush will help with
the longevity of the makeup, as it presses the
pigment into the skin while buffing the
texture into a smooth base’ he says.

Step 3  - Set with powder
If you’re worried that powder will lead to a
cakey finish, then don’t be – modern powders
sit much more naturally on the skin, and
they’re a great way to help your foundation
last.
‘Lightly set the foundation with powder,
focusing on your T-zone, and you’ll give your
foundation extra durability’ says Fred.
Another option he recommends is to mix
some loose powder, such as YSL Souffle
d’Cclat Loose powder, £38, into your
foundation. ‘This adds some grip to its texture’
says Fred.
Step 4 – Add some spray
If you want a dewy finish, try spraying fine
water mist over your finished foundation.
‘This will set the foundation pigment against
the skin and add longevity to the texture’ says
Fred.

You could also try a makeup fixing spray such
as Clarins Fix’ Make-Up , £23, which scored
highly with Good Housekeeping Institute
testers, who said it dried quickly and helped
makeup last all day.

There had been rumours the pair had wed and Adele
had also referred to him as her husband at the
Grammy awards.
Adele and Simon have one child together, a four-
year-old son named Angelo.
Video of Adele talking about being married has been
shared on social media.
She was describing the moment she had played
Someone Like You to close friends and family, when
she referred to being married.
“I could see in their eyes as they were listening to it
on their headphones that it reminded them of
something or someone,” she said.
“That’s what I wanted to remember, how it was I felt
at the beginning of the relationship that inspired that
record.
“Because as bad as a break up can be, as bitter and
horrible and messy as it can be, that feeling when you
first fall for someone is the best feeling on earth, and I
am addicted to that feeling.
“Obviously I can’t go through with those feelings
because I’m married now. I’ve found my next
person.”
Both she and Simon have been pictured wearing
wedding bands at events in recent weeks.
Last month, Heat magazine suggested Adele had
organised a small ceremony, with just “family and
close friends” in attendance.
They claimed she and Simon married at their £10m
home in Los Angeles without any “fuss”.
